PwC law is really bad. We used to have Fragomen before this wjen they bought out some mom/pop immigration practice in Toronto to cut costs and called it PwC law. I have had the pleasure of dealing with them and they were just awful. Trust me if in comparison to Fragomen they are bad then it speaks volumes.
I don't want to name names but some individuals there are just incompetent. One kept pushing me out for two months saying they are working on my case and have patience, only to find out later that they worked on wrong assumptions. There was one law clerk though a very junior individual who was great and knew more than "Directors".
I asked their management that we are their "Client" and if I delivered this quality work to my client, the Firm would fire me in a heartbeat.
Guys, we need to follow-up regularly with them, at least once a week, or else things will stagnate. Like in all cases, take ‘ownership’ of your own H1B extension and get them moving on feet to keep the case actions progressing. No point acting as ‘entitled’, because frankly, nobody else cares about your visa status except you, and the earlier we accept it, the better things become for us!
Extension for recapture time still pending, recently told I have to leave the country for 2.5 months at the end of the extension. Which is in 4 months. And I find this out when I reached out with a completely unrelated question/request. Since then, complete lack of explanation of the process, and so unresponsive to questions. When the response finally comes, it's a one line reply that doesn't address more than half the things. All the info I have now is from other sources, not them. And it appears that they might have withheld a clear solution. Dont they have a responsibility?
Agree we need to take some ownership, but isn't this literally their job though?
I agree that we should be taking ownership and following up with them, but my point is- how am I supposed to follow up on something I have no knowledge about. It's such a convoluted process, no one ever told me what the process was gonna look like, what steps needed to be completed by what dates, etc. And even now like I said, I dont get responses until I've emailed about the same thing two or three times, and even after it's a short response not answering half the questions. I just need the bare minimum from them to keep me informed, especially if it's something like "you're gonna have to leave the country". And to be able to trust them when they say there is no way around it. But there actually is, and they failed to tell me that too
I've had a similar situation, but am in my initial H1B application (second attempt, first time winning lottery). Have not received any communication from them without me asking first. Then suddenly I am told 'you may not get your H1B processed by Oct 1'. With no comments on what this may mean for me or what they are doing.
Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately it is what it is. Not even sure whether escalating to a partner would help. Don’t know about their performance evaluation process. They probably don’t care about the destiny of their customers.
P4 - you can only follow up to an extent. They have to respond and give a timeline. They keep everything so open ended!
P2 and SA1, you both are right about how the ‘ideal case’ scenario ‘should’ be. But, in reality, as you are aware, it’s different!.. So, onus is on us to take the steps for our cases forward, because frankly, the leadership doesn’t care!.. I have learnt the hard way in my cases, so just wanted to share the experience so that you avoid the same hardship!
Doesn’t being a part of Big 4 or US based consulting brand ( as opposed to smaller body shop or Indian IT) help on H1B extension or RFE etc? Thoughts?
