Is applying to T2/b4 strategy firms doable for me? Currently ~2 YOE in a Transformation role at a less prestigious, well known firm (below tier 2) and think that I’d like to switch to strategy. Masters and good UG resume. I started looking at associate/analyst roles but don’t have referrals. Will lack of referrals hurt me? Are those entry level jobs the ones I should be focused on? I know it’s tough to transition into those firms so I want to make sure I’m not wasting my time. TIA!

I have a third round interview this Thursday, but after I sent my availability, I booked a flight for work that is causing a problem. The interview ended up scheduled for 3:30-4:15, and I'm supposed to be on a 5pm flight out of LGA. Is there a reliably quiet place at LGA to do the interview (I don't have lounge access)? I started working as a consultant with EY 8 months ago. Even though I'm content and learning a lot there, I think there are places where I might easily earn more money. I received a job offer last week from Alvarez & Marsal to work as a consultant at the Transaction Advisory Department (financial due diligence team), where I will be paid more fairly (salary & bonus). Should I accept it? Or would leaving EY that early not be wise?

How common are credit checks for roles in accounting or finance positions? Will high utilization on credit card balances and low credit score be a deal breaker? I’ve been irresponsible and made mistakes, but wondering if I can switch jobs now or if I’m best off waiting 1-2 years and cleaning up my credit first.
