Mostly hybrid. Have to travel to client site every so often (around 50% travel)
EY is office hybrid - 60% like all others is my understanding.
NYC doesn’t really have anything to do with it, it’s not location dependent. Firm wide were encouraged to go in or sometimes there is a soft requirement on a SSL by SSL basis during peak times. Most commonly though, most service lines stance is it’s up to engagement teams to use their own judgement whether it makes sense for the team to be in person or not, whether that’s at an ey office or client site. Again, it’s just encouraged by overall firm-wide leadership but there are no requirements.
All in all, we don’t have enough office space to hold everyone so they can’t force everyone in person to EY offices which means we’re at the mercy of our clients hosting us in their offices which some are very open to while others don’t really care where we work and then there’s also clients that frankly don’t want us there or don’t have any office of their own either. So that’s why it’s mostly up the SSL and engagement team judgement to decide where you physically are working, the firm just has suggested guidelines they’d like us to follow if possible and it makes sense.
