I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

EY and EY-P are probably the same as PwC and S&. Unless you will be trying to jump directly to EY-P, I wouldn’t recommend to jump to EY hoping to then transition into EY-P.
Kearney - 99% Ops consulting
LEK - horrible wlb, might as well go into IB ($$$)
EY-P = S& but at EY, which is a no for me dawg
OW - god knows what they do, probably 80% insurance and wealth management clients
Nevertheless, any of these firms will make sense to join if you are doing tech consulting or some risk consulting at PwC.
I did like traveling until I got married and adopted a dog during COVID. When you are single, why not 🤷

OP did you try just applying with a S& referral?
Your RL will get notified and likely be mad but it's not like S& isn't hurting for people right now and wouldn't consider you as an experienced hire.
Realistically if you have another offer I sincerely doubt PwC will care enough to help you interview with S&. As far as they're concerned you leaving for S& is pretty much the same as leaving for EYP.
Also, make sure it's not deal tech - fairly certain that's DDV in an EYP trenchcoat.

I meant externally. May not be how it works...
Your team is never going to let you go. That's no benefit to them letting you go; like sad truth is there is no inherent compensation mechanism so it would not make sense for them to help you ever.
You need someone from S& to pull you. They're still basically different companies from the sounds of it. The question is not will your team let you go the question is will S& take you.
Granted I don't work there - just had a similar situation in my past job. I had tried for a few years honestly and finally made the decision I wasn't playing nice anymore even if it meant career suicide at the initial org. Got aggressive with setting up chats and meeting people and finally one high up person pushed the button for me to interview.
It was only when I knew I'd leave if I didnt get the new job that I did that. It sounds like you're at that point.
The best path is to go to cloud and digital. CRTs had non legacy strategy& folks in the room - they are looking to blend the teams of some acquisitions. If you can get into the the broader cloud and digital strategy team, then you can network more closely with the strategy& folks to get into the broader strategy& network, then make the shift. Staffing is also closely controlled by non legacy strategy& folks so they will be able to put you on a strategy project and will be looking to you to prove their integration model of works, so be prepared to perform

Cloud & Digital Strategy is former DTI, and I don’t really see how S& and DTI can ever be integrated.. most straight performers at DTI that I knew left the firm or switched to Product & Tech. I left like a couple of months after DTI was renamed Cloud & Digital Strategy exactly for the same reason as OP.
Every tier 2 consulting firm has an “up or out” culture… (though not as intense as MBB)
Yeah I know. But that amount of pressure is manageable to me vs MBB.
Isn’t all EY strategy now EY-P? Seems like everyone at EY in my network on LinkedIn changed their title and company to EY-P earlier this year
Only part of the strategy group became EYP
Its pretty difficult, it’s run as a separate business now so may as well not work at EY as they wont take people across. They are also very precious about anyone else being seen as doing Strat work. It’s why I jumped to D.
