What is the culture like, type of work and reputation of Capco in the Data & Analytics space?
I have some good ex colleagues who moved over there and also looked up on LinkedIn and see lots of seemingly smart and accomplished people in their D&A team in the UK.
I'll ask my ex colleagues too, but wanted to see if people here have any opinion or information on this too.
TIA

Yes totally. They will push you to start earlier and just make up a reason why you can’t. Let them suck your soul out later.

Definitely. I’ve taken anywhere from 2weeks to one month.
As a hiring manager, I never have and never would turn down a candidate because they asked for one more week. Take the week, everyone will benefit from you being in the right headspace on day 1.

yes it is and ask at the offer stage. they’ll normally ask when you’d like to start and/or suggest one - but this like everything else in the process is negotiable.
I took a month and it was GLORIOUS
As people have said already, most companies will give the standard 2 weeks as a start date. I would just simply say “that sounds great. I’m super excited to start and join my new team, but was hoping to start XX.” Provide the start date ( presumably the following Monday). Hopefully it’s not a problem! Everything is negotiable during this stage.
In between jobs is the only opportunity we get to travel for long periods.. So I would always take advantage of that and take as long a break as I can get.
Thank you all — super helpful and made me feel less nervous about asking!!

Even better, negotiate a later start then take vacation time, then put in your two weeks.
Get paid for your time off.
I’d tell them you have a planned week long vacation scheduled 3 weeks from the date of your offer letter. Say that you’re happy to start before or after that. They’ll more than likely tell you to start after, but even if they want you to start before, your first week will likely be chill anyway.

I would not tell a prospective employer I was traveling. I would ask for 3 weeks - no comment why. totally reasonable. any employer that pushes back on that is a 🚩
It’s a good question, I have always been so eager to start that this has never been a thought but it’s for sure a great question, thanks for asking it!
Ugh I wish but we have unlimited PTO currently so that wouldn’t work 🥴
OH I see that’s smart — but my team is swamped so don’t want to make things harder for them ☹️
