How much would my tech stack and language be a factor in getting selected in faang or good product based companies?
I'm asking from getting my resume selected to getting an offer.
I read everywhere that only DSA and system design is needed, but I'm still concious about my tech stack.

Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

It’s perfectly acceptable to follow up on your application. It’s also a good way to stay in the recruiters mind and show them you are very interested.
Guys, it's perfectly normal to not hear back on an application for a month or more. 2-3 weeks would actually be quite fast, especially to hear from a big company like Deloitte that has lots of internal processes to churn through. There could be so many different explanations for why a hiring process could be delayed. Recruiters don't have time to respond to inquiries from every single person who applied to a role and wants an update.
It could also be the case that they already have decided on who they want to interview and you all will find out in another 6 weeks when the role closes.
I wish everyone luck, but don't waste your time agonizing over one application and holding your breath to hear back from any single position unless you already have been invited to interview.
I just started a new job that I didn't get invited to interview at until 2 months after I applied. And that was one of probably about 150 jobs I applied to.
Companies don't waste any time thinking about their applicants. You don't matter to them until they decide they want to extend an offer. You're just going to be anxious and frustrated if you can't submit an application and then move on with your life until you get an invite for an interview.
Solid points, that’s fair enough. Thanks for the input!
In your position though it’s been 2 weeks. I’m chalking it up to vacation schedules and offer approval layers. I also think it’s fine to follow up. May not get a response but it can’t hurt IMO.
I don't know if it would hurt your chances or not, but I doubt that it would help. If you have already interviewed then, yes, you should follow up.
If you have only applied, in all likelihood you are one of hundreds of people who applied and they probably haven't even looked at your application bc they aren't ready to review applications yet or you didn't make it through the ATS.
I would just wait and in the mean time keep applying for other roles to increase your chance of getting a hit. They will reach out to you when/if they're ready. Asking probably isn't going to expedite things at all.
Mine has been in review for 2.5-3 weeks there as well. What could be happening?
I did reach out to a Deloitte recruiter via LinkedIn who is a recruitment manager and they had to email a few other appropriate recruiters last week and still haven’t heard back. So sounds like it’s a lengthy process(and as the poster above mentioned many applicants) on their end either way.
Don’t sweat it you’ll get a response either way but couldn’t hurt to reach out to the practice recruiter or talent team via LinkedIn if you can find them. I searched the practice title and my location to find these people then messaged. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Same is happening to me. I applied for two positions with Deloitte three weeks ago and both still have the status „Applied and pending review“.
Based on the comments here and looking at all of the open positions, I take a wide guess that the recruiters are extremely busy plus it is vacation time.
Had an initial recruitment call with them so my app was successfully received and reviewed. Basically OP just has to wait it out unless they reach out to a practice leader on LinkedIn whichever they applied for
