New Orleans attorneys: my firm is trying to gather data on billable requirements, rates, and salaries because it’s been experiencing crazy turnover lately. If you’re comfortable, it would be helpful if those in New Orleans or similar markets can share this information. I’ll go first: 1. Firm’s primary practice: insurance defense; 2. Firm size: 25-50 attorneys; 3. Billable requirement: 1950 annual; 4. Salary range for 1-5 year associates: 70k-100k; 5. Salary for 5-8 year associates: 100k-125k.

GSuites - gmail (tips on types what folders to create to separate everything/tips), expensify (what is it for? How do I expense something through it?) and any templates for taking minutes. What do you call it when you buy a bunch of self-help books and are slow to read them (feel like I don’t have time, don’t know where to start because I have so much to fix), have a thousand self-help to-dos like meditating, exercising, stretching, pursuing various hobbies and struggle to stay consistent, and then shame yourself for not doing all of the above…what do you call that. Asking for me.

I'm looking to pivot from back office operations into Investment Banking. What can I do to better position myself to make the jump?

I’m an FA within the bank channel and have made the mistake of leaving my first firm to go to another. bank program that ended up failing and sold our books to another firm. It’s become harder and harder to grow a book now within the bank channel because of Reg BI and it’s going to take me a decade to grow my book to where I want to be. I’m a CFP and finishing up my MBA. I’m thinking of going to another area of Finance all together like PE. Any suggestions for me? NOT looking to go Independent.

I’m convinced that the reason some of these firms are so prestigious is because they have intentionally exclusionary recruitment practices. I used to believe that you had to already be rich to get hired at MBB. Now being on the other side of the recruitment process , I really do feel that it rings true. I hate the way we evaluate candidates and decide on who is “high priority” during coffee chats.

As a reminder our goal on this bowl is to fully understand other people’s POV and to share your POV effectively so it’s fully understood. So that empathy can happen...not necessarily to change someone else’s mind. This may or may not happen.

I created this group because: there are both black and white people afraid to say what they really think. I see this as a problem because unless we can say what we truly feel we can’t identify differences and come to genuine solutions.
