Lmao what is it with D people lumping themselves together with MBB...
But to answer your question, there have been a few posts recently from similar T2 EMs asking about this (a S& M post comes to mind). The general consensus is if you are at a high paying MBB/T2 firm, then it's hard to find exits that have a comparable total pay package.
Exactly! 😂 not even OW Parth or LEK was mentioned before Deloitte - just too funny
OP - I exited Deloitte at the SM level and went to industry (yes my FB title is misleading). I took a slight cut in base pay, but made up for it some of it in my bonus. You’ll find most industry jobs have a lower base, and some companies give really good bonuses of 30-60% base. However, I left D to find better WLB and reduce my travel. Best decision ever and I’m happier now. Financially I’m comparable to SM take home. My work hours are similar to consulting btw.
D2 I’ve cut out the travel hours, firm initiatives, local office brown nosing, national practice ass kissing etc... so yes, my true work hours are about the same but the bs hours are eliminated 😎
You should get a pay raise if you’re from Deloitte. I got 4 offers when I left as a first year manager at Deloitte, all were $220-235k salary + base, plus some signing bonus ...which was a raise from Deloitte.
Mbb probably needs to take a pay cut since they actually pay well unlike Deloitte.
Can you tell me more about the finance offer?

I was a senior manager. I exited and over my first 4 years made more in total than had I been a new partner.

I was promoted at end of year 3, which is a way to reload shares as well.
Lol @ Deloitte. Surprised not OW, Parthenon or LEK
(contd) For reference, the F500 corp strat teams in reference are all full of ex consultants, financial services industry. T2 cities (think Chicago, DC, Boston).
For many like me coming in from PL/EM/M equivalent, the quoted comp range is 135-195K base with ~20-25% bonus. That would be way below M levels at T1/T2 consulting firms.
I left PwC to go to non FAANG tech and making 30% more base, 50% more total cash. and 100% more total comp. don’t take a cut.
