Why do we give awards to students for ideas that will never happen/are ridiculous? Netflix will never make an ad unit on their app, that would sell you Burger King burgers when burgers appear in movies or shows. That's just stupid. How did this win? What am I missing?

At one place I freelanced, the boss and the office manager/HR/general freelance manager had very similar names. One day the boss came over and said that they really liked the open approach I had taken to asking for things, sharing opinions, etc on the workplace. I had thought I was emailing the office manager for things. It worked out well but it was still massively embarrassing.

I searched for a funny youtube video as a reference during an internal pitch, but I hadn’t watched it in years and didn’t realize the language was outrageously obscene and lewd… wasnt sure weather to keep it playing and eventually just stopped it and fumbled over my words trying to cover my ass

When I was an intern at Canon, I bought a VW Beetle (stick) and was learning how to drive it. My 3rd week there I accidentally left it in neutral and it rolled into some higher-up’s Mercedes in the parking lot. True story. More than a decade later my most mortifying work moment.

Back when I drove a stick, I woke up at 5AM one day to what sounded like a parade outside my window. Apparently I never set the brake and my car had rolled out of the driveway and reparked itself across two lanes of traffic. Whoopsie daisy.
It depends, please remember the “no face, no case” rule of employment.
