I general words, if an employee is loyal and good, no one will deliberately give bad rating unless work efficency of that emplyee is too bad to retain.
But yeah, sometimes bad can happen, for which one should raise with Hr first, it's one of the job of HRs in well reputed companies to handle such cases

In other companies yes. But in cogni they can fire 3LPA person. My friend got forced to resign

One of my friend join cogni as a fresher, served 2.4 yrs in support project. After project rampdown he got released and come to bench. After 2 months HR keeps on calling and forcing him to resign. He resigned after two warnings
It's true...Cognizant has 35 days bench policy now...if u r not able to get project in this period u will have to resign and leave..
It depends on various scenarios
1. If that person goes against his/her manager/senior levels , more so in team meetings due to different views and continues to do so
2. Person involved and found guilty of any wrongdoing/harassment/insider-trading which might cost the company its reputation
3. If management decides to dissolve team and there's no other openings due to that person's high CTC
If it's none of these , then the management needs to give a very strong reason to RMG/HR of why they think that person is not a good candidate. And it is very difficult for management to prove loyal person as bad due to that person's good track record.
In CTS it's totally depends on ur manager...until u have good relationships with manager and u r billable nothing to worry..but as soon as u r doing something against ur manager will like asking to release from.project etc...that he can ruin ur year by giving u bad rating inspite of u have done good work...they have multiple options in thr bucket to justify that...and no HR and no one can change that....and unluckily if that year Cognizant planning to fire...then they will first see the people who have bad rating...
I have seen the deserving people have recieved 4th bucket and asked to resign
