I have a pet theory that alternative legal services provision is going to become more the standard over the next decade
I can definitely see that!
I’m just here hoping the AI will take my job
😂 you ain’t lying!
I wouldn't use the term "near". There needs to be a massive generational shift before any firms will begin experimenting with anything like that.
Employees are a huge cost to a business and that won't be changing anytime soon. Younger employees are also less loyal to employers, so adding the cost of mentorship with little to no reward disincentivizes employers from really investing in a mentorship program.
Millennials are allegedly more team-focused and therefore (theoretically) more likely to both want strong mentorship and to be willing to be a mentor once they've learned enough. We're only just hitting an age where we'll be in the position to set something like that up. It's unclear if gen z will be similarly interested, so millennials may follow in the footsteps of their predecessors with their attitude towards mentorship.
Tl;dr: it depends but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
I think the changes will come, but it will be a very gradual progression.
