I bill my clients for anything tangentially related to them. One time I dreamed I was at a client visit and billed them the full 8 hours I slept

Power move if true, super unethical

I work on the plane and take calls in the Uber. All billable time.
I drive 2.5 hours to get to the client. Billable?
Billable with a fat audit request
Should be either fixed fee or T&M, if it's the latter you'll bill actually work time and travel time is passed through at no mark up
I don’t understand billing a client for travel time. Why are they paying for us to get our physical body to a certain location ? Shouldn’t it be the value we create with your intellect to solve their problem ? That is how I would think if I was the client. Care to enlighten me ?
SC1 you could argue that pre-covid, but now, with remote working being the norm, its a clear expense if they want to drag you to their office everyday. Also, fuel and transportation are not what they used to be
We have a separate charge code for travel time so it’s hours but not utilization (at least I think that’s how it works)
Thats splitting hairs at this point
Lol you bill what’s budgeted if it’s a fixed fee engagement. If it’s billed at actual you should try and bill actual hours worked for sure

If you're doing work while traveling and it's a T&M contract where that's allowed, sure. Or if you're traveling over X distance/time and the contract allows for billing that overage.
Otherwise, nope.
No, not on any of my engagements or any of the companies I’ve worked for. If I’m actually completing client tasks, I bill it regardless of whether I took the call from my home office or the Lyft, but if I can’t work or just don’t want to, I log it as unbillable travel time.
PwC policy is travel time between 9-5 is billable
Short answer: yes
