Sometimes I love my job, other days I really feel like an employee.

What does your boss do to remind you you’re an employee?

Has anyone dealt with a therapist not being able to see you (virtually) while you are temporarily located in another state? I’m struggling with coordinating my work and when I’ll be in my home state with my sessions because apparently I can only be seen when I’m physically in my home state. Are there different types of lisences I should look for that would allow someone to treat me while traveling? It’s all very confusing…

My wife and I are starting a first cycle of IVF. Given how expensive IVF is/can be, wondering if anyone has lessons learned on the insurance front—understanding it varies by plan, of course. We’re currently enrolled in HDHP w/ HSA, and have nurse consult tomorrow discuss financials among other things. Still in open enrollment, which is great timing. Thanks all. Staying hopeful.

Should I leave my company? Been here 1.5 years and was told I was getting a management promotion 5-6 months ago.Still no solid traction and they are opening up a req for it 😑no one on the current sales team has ever been promoted (2 years)except our boss who has been promoted 3 times. We hit quote every month/q/year by a lot. I have several offers at double my OTE. Already asked what the timeline is for a new manager and I was told soon and I'm "up for consideration." What would you do here?

Boomer. I am in between jobs. Laid off in 10/21 after 16+ yrs, with an ABA firm. RIF. Still on excellent terms. Took my time living off generous package and didn’t seriously start applying until 01/22. Made a rookie mistake and accepted first offer.
Turns out job wasn’t as advertised. Mutual parting of ways 3/22. Due diligence is critical.
Now interviewing a LOT. Some temp work, I still have “it”. I relate to all gens. Willing to mentor AND learn from all. Tech savvy, CTE from day one. Leads?

About to finish my first year. I’m a specialist. Only going to hit 65% of my hours (took a 4 week vacation cause of wedding/hm).

I never say no to work and i have fantastic reviews, and the head of my practice (with whom I work a lot for) has great things to say about me.

I left PA earlier this year for a manager level financial reporting role. It was a lateral move but would’ve been up for senior manager promo in July had I stayed in PA. I was approached with another opportunity as Sr Manager Financial Reporting at a public company for $150k and 20% bonus with a clear path to director in time. 8 YOE and live in FL. I’m trying to get an idea if this is in line with market. TIA!

Diagnosed with mild bell’s palsy (nerve on one side of face is damaged - can’t move it) and I have a happy hour tomorrow. Should I skip it? Should I ask to work from home while I recover?

Just over 6 years in B4 financial services tax in PNW area. Mostly doing compliance work pumping out K1s and returns. Just got an industry offer at 155k 15% bonus and 100k equity (4year vesting). Fully remote position with occasional travel. Should I accept? I know it's a long shot but deep down I always had an ambition to pursue PA to see if I can make a partner. I am an acting senior and am training 3 new hires. They are not doing well, so I often re-do their works even after I give them 2 pages step by step instruction. The problem is my manager and director don't see the problems (because those problems happen behind the scene) and think all the A1s are performing exceptionally well. The A1s and I are all associates, so I don't even have a chance to give them an official feedback (snapshot at pwc). How to address this issue to my manager and director?
