McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Honestly I am right there with you OP because this is definitely something I am passionate about.
I think selling something that helps people in general is rewarding. If you’re solving a problem, providing a better service or giving someone an experience they want then, to me, it doesn’t matter if I’m overly passionate about it. I’m passionate about what that “thing” does.
What I prefer is to sell things that are eminently useful and have the capacity to improve over time. Just keeping up with new models, or new features, will keep you engaged. I don't really harbor ideas about selling something glamorous or something I'm passionate about. I don't really know what that would even be. But things that are mentally engaging are good because you're not going to get bored by talking up the same old boring thing.
Selling something innovative and novel is what drives me, especially if it is helping people. Find something you believe in. That belief translates to success in sales.
