I’ve been an account manager for over five years now, and I’m starting to think about what’s next. I enjoy the relationship-building side of things, but the constant juggling act of client needs, internal teams, and last-minute requests is wearing me down. Part of me wonders if I should specialize further—maybe move into enterprise accounts or strategic AM roles. But I’ve also thought about pivoting into something adjacent, like marketing or operations, where I can still leverage my skills but with (hopefully) fewer client fire drills. Has anyone made a transition like this? Did you double down on AM or shift into a new field? Would love to hear your experience!

The JD shared during the interview says : Project Role Description : Assists with the data platform blueprint and design and Key responsibilities is a. Pre-sales and solution ownership of sales pursuits data analytics related services for cloud b. Own end to end RFP or RFI etc. Does it mean work is on presales only ?

Right so here’s a bit of a dilemma I work to a much higher standard at home and it’s this high standard that means I’m in line for a promotion. I’ve grown so much and I feel really strong in my role I’m also busier than ever. The problem is we’re going back into the office and I don’t want to go in if it’s just going to be senior management in asking me to get them lunches for client meetings or fetch a glass of water and cutlery for meeting rooms. Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself.
