I was the same with iPhone. But I got tired of their politics after Job's died and didn't trust them with my data.
So I moved to the Google Pixel phone with grapheneos. Love the hardcore security and privacy.
Was an easy transition and have been using it for years now recently upgrading to a Pixel 10.
My personal is the Samsung, my work phone is the iPhone. I love my Samsung, mostly for the camera and stylus, but for iPhone, I prefer the texting experience. I don’t really care about the rest of any of it. They each have their merits, but I don’t think I could give up my stylus though. I’ve had one for almost 10 years starting back with the galaxy note 7 +.
Mostly games haha. But quick hand written notes, it can quickly translate languages, and the occasional group selfie as it hits the camera button as well.
A few years ago I went from an Android phone (Google Nexus) to iPhone and then got back to Android (Samsung) as realized I am just an Android person. Samsung's gallery feels superior to me than iPhone. Maybe because I am just used to it now.
I think the decision will be dependent on how deeply embedded you are in the apple ecosystem. Like if you habitually text people on imessages from your macbook, or have an apple watch that you use for fitness tracking, etc. etc. etc. Unless you fully commit to migrating to the Samsung ecosystem.
I’m the same as you, an iPhone user since it first released. I got a Pixel 10 pro fold from work, but I leave it on my desk, barely use it. The UI and the experience is just simpler and more intuitive (perhaps because that’s all I’m used to), which has caused the move to stall. It might have to do with the learning curve, or, I’m just not that interested in migrating.
iPhone vs Samsung is so 2000s. People still believe this is worth a discussion ? Equating Changing a phone to midlife crisis- gosh, that is midlife crisis
Such an alpha 🍟🍟🍟
Get a Pixel, best of both worlds
Similar simplicity to iOS will all the openness and customizability of Android
Once you get the gestures down it's very intuitive
I resisted for a while and got the droid that slid up with the physical keyboard. Loved it. Would get that again if it came back. It died and went to iPhone then got the Samsung with the rounded edges that came out. Regretted it and switched back to iPhone and have had about 6 since. Apple is slower to allow edits to the ui and some of the ux is improving but depends on what you use your phone for most. My dads Samsung camera is incredible compared to my iPhone 15 but the usability of an iPhone I feel is more intuitive, albeit basic in comparison
A few years ago I went from iPhone to Samsung and a year later went back to iPhone 😬

I had every iPhone from 1 to 10 then jumped to a Samsung Galaxy Note (now the Ultra line). Im on my 3rd now and strongly prefer the Samsung.
