You can create a cover letter to explain your employment gap. But keep in mind, people re-enter the workforce every single day. Some people left for parenting, to care for elderly relatives, or due to military service… HR folks are more than used to see large employment gaps and it's not as big of a deal as we think it is when we're in that situation.
My last job was in HR, at the start of Covid, have not been in the work force since. I miss work, so desided to take classes.
Being a full time mom is important and yes there are plenty of things we do while staying at home. So yes I would use some of the items you've done at home.
It is different one there now, so put your all into that resume, might want to put together a portfolio also. Good luck and best wishes. Get AI help also.
Yeah I think you could do that, though I would ask for feedback if you have any friends who are hiring managers. "Household manager" or "full-time caregiver" can both be good ways to describe the SAHM lifestyle (I definitely wouldn't put SAHM). I would also emphasize your experience before that and make sure you can recall specific stories from those roles to talk about in interviews/your cover letter.
During your time as a stay at home mom did you do any volunteer work or assisted in activities at your kids school? These are things tyst can go on your resume.
A lot has changed in the workplace over 7 years. Research your field and changes in technology so you can articulate you understand how things work today. If you can talk today’s language and deliver on that, you’ll be fine.
Also, maybe consider taking less pay than your competitors for a year to get back in. Get back into the swing of things and then go find a more financially aligned position or ask for a raise..
