I would tell you a similar thing, other than networking, you can also have someone to review your resume to look for improvement, and even AI to check for the most used keywords. After that, I would add white-written keywords throughout your resume to increase your score on the ATS system. Sending you good vibes!
What is white-written keywords?

I absolutely hate that part.
I wish I could say it has been only a month which it has been since late February, yes I did try a job for 3 weeks that did not work but I am not counting that role as it was a horrible experience, Next Thursday would make it exactly 6 months. Have you applied for unemployment, food stamps / SNAP, and anything else that your county can help with? It took me awhile to apply for SNAP as I did not think I would be out of work this long and I only have 9 more weeks left of unemployment that I can request. It will be nice to get off unemployment, SNAP (especially since I only get $23 a month), Medical Assistance and get back to bringing my financial commitments current plus not having to go to the local food shelves every month. I do have a role that is to start 8/18 which is a remote seasonal role although I am still looking for something longer term and I am waiting to hear back from a couple other places.
Thank you for sharing your story with such honesty. I can tell you’ve been through an incredible amount, and it takes strength to keep pushing forward the way you are. My heart goes out to you, especially for the pain, loss, and struggles you’ve faced. I do want to gently encourage you. if you truly believe they made a mistake in your benefits decision, it might still be worth filing an appeal. Sometimes the process feels exhausting, but you never know if it could lead to something better than $23, and you deserve to have your case fully heard.
I’m also curious, do you believe in God? I ask because in my own journey, my faith has helped me find strength in moments where I didn’t think I could go on. Whether through prayer or just knowing there’s a bigger plan, it’s given me hope even when circumstances seemed hopeless. I’m rooting for you to get that Event Coordinator role, it sounds like such a great fit, and I truly hope you hear good news soon. Keep holding on. You matter, your life matters, and better days can still be ahead.
I don't want to downplay the stress, but one month is a pretty short time in this job market. I obviously hope you get hired as soon as possible, but you might have to put in a little more time. My best advice is to reach out to everyone you know and try to focus on quality applications over the quantity of applications! Good luck to you!
Thank you for the advice!!
