Not aware of the card you’re talking about, but I really like the Chase Amazon card for 5% back at Amazon and Whole Foods (better cards for other purchases). The only downside would be if you have many other Chase cards or another card you’re thinking of getting soon (to avoid too many applications at one time, which could raise the risk of denial). Otherwise, great card for Amazon and helps you build credit with no fee and a $150 Amazon gift card upon approval, so I’d say go for it!

It’s a store card (eg like a Target or Nordstrom card). Good callout with the 5/24 rule…need to check that.
The main thing I can think of is that the Chase card will count towards the max credit that Chase is willing to give you, which might complicate opening another Chase card in the future.
When I opened my United Quest card I had to reshuffle the credit limits on my other Chase cards to make room for it, which slowed down the process enough that I had to buy the flight on a different card. Was expecting instant approval with a credit score over 800!
If you don't have a ton of Chase cards already then I don't think there's much risk there.
In terms of temporary effects, switching cards will also count as a hard inquiry, closing the old one will negatively impact average account age, and the new card will count towards 5/24 for no sign-up bonus.
I have no idea how or why they picked the 3 cards they did. I had a Freedom Unlimited and a Prime card, both were Visa Signature cards with 18k credit limits. They took 6.2k from the Freedom Unlimited and 0 from the Prime card. I didn't dig into it because I'm not spending close to 10k a month on either of those cards.
For some reason my chase Amazon dropped to 3%. Are they are still offering 5% for new sign ups? I need to ditch it
True - I meant if they want it for non-Amazon and should’ve been clearer! I use this card exclusively at Amazon/Whole Foods and 5% can’t be beaten for that. Wasn’t sure if D1 meant spending for everything or $3k exclusively at Amazon.
