I’ve had three different mentors give me completely different advice: one says stay in public to build leverage, one says go corporate to stabilize, and one says join a startup to learn fast. They’re all smart, and I respect them, but I’m spinning in circles trying to make the right choice. I know I need to just choose something, but I’m terrified of picking the wrong path and regretting it. At what point do you stop collecting advice and just decide?

I got tired of grinding and just wanted to make good money with reasonable hours but limited growth. It's been wonderful in corporate accounting.

Those are definitely "pros" in my opinion.

Those are 3 possible paths, all good, depending on what you are looking for: staying in public will allow you to transition to more senior roles later and expend your knowledge in accounting, and you already know what to expect… going corporate will reduce your hours, but also slow down promotions and raises - great if you’re burnt out and just want something steady, and start up is high risk high reward… depending on what company you end up in… but you’re early in your career, and start ups might not have the supporting structure to build you up and mentor you…

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
