Hi Fishes, Can Anyone please tell, one of my friend joined Tech M in August, At the time of joining she was 3 months pregnant and now shes worrying about her manager. She wants to inform them about her pregnancy; is it right time to inform? Or she needs to wait for 6 more months for that to inform? Anyone please clearify.. Yes- the fact you’ve never been ticketed is mind boggling. I am scared to drive a couple days after it expiring because they always get me. Only explanation I can think is your license plates are registered to an address outside of Chicago or you never park on the street
Which is also a massive fine/driving penalty, should it eventually come to light (and it will). Along with not updating your license within the required 90-day period.
Insane. Yes you need vehicle stickers. Crazy you haven’t gotten a ticket in 7 years. Almost unbelievable.
How have you never heard of this all these years?

I lived in the city for over 10 years and never had a sticker on either of my cars. Most of the time I parked in my own garage. I’m guessing that’s why I avoided tickets.

Ha, see I know I’m not alone
I bought a new to me used car in January on a Saturday and got a ticket on Sunday. I had to contest the ticket showing them I had 30 days to buy the sticker. You have been lucky. And they can continue to ticket you until you get a sticker.
I have lived In and had a car in chicago since 2017. I have yet to pay for a city sticker. I think it’s because I have the registration to my in-laws home in the burbs, though my insurance it’s registered to my home address. Idk these things confuse me
It's definitely because of that. It's a long time thing to register your cars in the burbs if you have relatives who live there etc to avoid having to buy a window sticker. They only ticket you if your car is registered in Chicago
I actually got a ticket in a garage once — I didn’t think the police could ticket you in a garage and I never bought a sticker because I lived in a high rise and parked in the garage. 🤣 Expensive lesson.

They love to ticket people in the airport garages. You'll find all kinds of cars with boots there.
You live a blessed life if you haven’t been ticketed for this once in 7 years.

I park in my condo building’s garage. And I drive for grocery shopping. I once got a ticket for only displaying plate in the back not in the front (Indiana only requires plate in the back).
I actually didn't renew mine the last couple years either but I make sure to not park on the street. They don't pull you over and don't ticket you in private parking lots like at grocery stores for this

Ok, I just checked random cars parking nearby. 2 out of 6-7 cars do not have it. This is not a trivial portion
Its not the IL plates - it’s the municipality in which the car is registered that determines
Yes you need one but got a car in January and submitted online and they came back 3 months later saying one of the papers wasn’t right (it was based on what they ask for online) so have just never tried again. They do amnesty months where you avoid late fees so will just go then next time but Chicago / cook county is completely inept with everything. Took over 6 weeks to get a birth certificate for my newborn. This is where AI is needed to get rid of useless government waste.

OK at a DMV branch in Chicago right now (for something else) and now I see why they didn’t bring this up when I migrated my title from IN to IL. DMV is affiliated with the state and has nothing to do with anything from the city. It’s not even from the DMV to get a city sticker.
