I've recently been trying to streamline my communication, which has meant cutting out many of the "friendly" niceties like excessive exclamation points and emojis from my emails. As a woman, do you feel the pressure to make your emails overly polite? Because, honestly, I don't see many men in sales doing that, and it makes me wonder about the double standard, if there is one.

I definitely think there's a higher level of expectation for women to be emotionally engaging in all of their communications.. even just texting. But I personally don't feel like I should ditch the niceties because I know that that's what makes me an effective communicator. Being more plainspoken would come across as a sharp departure from how i normally communicate, and would end up costing me in internal and external relationships. Not worth it to me

Yes! It’s like we’re expected to walk the line between warm and professional all the time.
If I write a direct email, I worry it’ll come off as cold. But when a man sends the same thing, it’s “efficient.” Total double standard.

Yes women tend to do so. There is definitely a double standard. I feel pressure to use emojis especially in LinkedIn messages.

I definitely think there’s a double standard!

I do this all the time. I always read them back and ask myself why I am being so nice. There is a double standard because if we type an email as bluntly as a man, people get offended.

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

New comp for new partner channel I am carving out, I am offered same base but guaranteed 75% quota attainment payout. Is this a fair comp? Would love any constructive thoughts/points on this. Best everyday bank account and credit card in Australia for an expat couple?

I‘m moving to Australia with my partner and we don’t have a bank account and credit cards yet. We basically need the bank account only for everyday finance stuff (local payments, debit card, etc) and we‘re looking for some credit cards with good international fees and ideally a reward program to collect some points for traveling.

Random, but valid/persistent thought.

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?

Hi everyone, I got hired on as entry level sales operations role back in January. It quickly turned into sales, and eventually all the sales for the small company once the head of sales left. I am happy to take on the additional role for my company, and they are going to let me. But they feel that without multiple people in a sales department the title head of sales might not be the best title. I have input in what my updated position title and salary would be. What should I ask for?

How would you go about finding a remote AE role with a 100k base?

I have about 7-8 years of sales experience and have consistently out performed my OTE. I absolutely love my current role but I feel like I have out grown the company as there isn't a ton of opportunity to make more than I am currently making.

I opened up my LinkedIn to recruiters but all the offers are 60-70k base and 120-140k OTE. I am shooting for MINIMUM 80k base but ideally 100k or more.

What would you do?

I am planning on asking for a raise in my base salary and I am unsure what the market price would be for my skills at a staffing agency. I am in the top producer at my company with over 50 producers. I generate an average of $120k in GM per quarter. I am approaching my first year end review and I am currently at a base salary of $70,000 and I have 3 years of prior experience in the industry. What should I be asking for in this situation?
