I've recently graduated with my AAS (health information technology) and passed the RHIT exam. I have no history of healthcare experience (mostly office work, customer service, and hotels). Does anyone have any helpful hints on how to enter the healthcare field for health information? I'd like to work overnight but I feel like my lack of experience will hinder my chances. I'm not finding many (any) overnight jobs, and I'm applying to all kinds of positions that are in the HIT world.

Office work and customer service have a lot of overlap with this field so I would focus on transferable skills. Are there any networks through your academic program you can start with?

Check Datavant, you should be able to find an entry level role there. They have both onsite and remote positions. Good luck!

I've never heard of Datavant but I'll check it out. Thank you!

Do you think partners in law firms have too much power and autonomy? eg. the power to refuse leave, to do your annual appraisal, to make you work while on leave, to overwork people, to manage the team on their on terms etc. Is this power bad or good for the firm and the team overall?
