I remember when I filled out my application I was so nervous. It took me a while to get to that point too but now I can say it's one of the best decisions I've ever made
My spouse at the time had to convince me to join the police academy after I kept saying how I wanted to join. Now I'm moving up. I'll be a detective soon
You will be taken apart and rebuilt to be the best officer possible. They may be harsh with you, but that's only because they want the best for you. Best of luck!
Remember that it's not personal, it's their job, and there's a purpose behind the chaos. Just keep in mind to breathe even while they are screaming in your face. You will always be wrong, no matter what you say or do. Just keep pushing.
Actually, the stress component won't require much if you're physically prepared. You quickly learn to just keep your mouth shut because nothing you do is right. As they say, you should be paint when attending the academy. Even if it's there, nobody sees it.
Be in good physical condition before you go. It will greatly simplify everything else. Best get your cardio on.
The majority of the absurd things they make you do are for a reason. At some point, everything is going to make complete sense. You'll be thankful for all the small things they had you learn like the back of your hand.
