The issue is there are so many people who are qualified, why not hire somebody who is already qualified?
I don’t look at postings these days because I’m not looking although their is probably the school thought that says I should always be looking.
Companies are too lazy to really train and mold. They want a FTE but want them to perform like a contractor on day 1
While I agree and intelligence can allow one to flatten the learning curve, but the issue is employers don't want to train.
Yeah, it's less effort. I wish they would train people like they used to do. It is a catch 22. The people in power say there is a labor shortage, but in actuality, there isn't. They just don't want to put in effort.
I agree! However the catch 22 is REALLY that training is timely and labor intensive and employees want to complain about no employer loyalty and while they’re quiet quitting and scrolling for the next role… so … you get what you give. I will admit that sometimes loyalty is not reciprocated, that does happen. But I can’t even count the amount of employees that I’ve brought on and trained for 6 - 9 months to learn the job enough to become as proficient as a candidate with prior experience, only for them to become a bad behavioral/cultural fit or ghost or one of the many reasons they didn’t last. Waste of time and money! So… I dunno… the market wains to what it’s proven successful for the demand. Unfortunate for those that are the outliers.
