Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Hii Guys, Could anyone give me some clarity on the below point. I have cleared 2nd round of technical interview at Deloitte, but my candidature is still showing as interview in progress at Deloitte careers page. I had a discussion with HR on this and she told me that next process is pending from management side. It's been almost 10 days since from 2 nd round of interview. How much more time does it gonna take, any idea? Or is it normal. Please help me with this 🙏🙏 .Deloitte

Thanks Mr. President for making our lives miserable!
No. More like the EY lawyers have f*cked us over and have no clue what they are saying. Lots of contradicting themselves on that call
EY lawyers also tend to lie a lot.
At D, we’ve always had to get an LCA for a new client site. What’s changed at EY? Takes our lawyers- who are internal to the firm - about 7-10 days to submit (and often has to be an amendment). Makes doing this job almost impossible. One workaround my colleagues and I have used is getting LCAs for major MSAs (e.g. NY, SF, LA etc) in advance so we can deploy to those cities immediately.
EY has always had the policy of filing LCAs. What has changed now is that we are required to submit SOWs and detailed itinerary for every location that we request an LCA for. Previously, we could request for major hubs - San Fran, NYC, Boston etc., but now we can only request if we have a client with a formal SOW in place. That pretty much throws out any pursuit related opportunity as well. In addition, USCIS has revised its policy and may only provide you status until the duration of your engagement. So if you currently have H1 valid until April 2020 and your engagement SOW only lists until April 2019, your H1B validity may be changed to April 2019 if you can’t prove that you have work lined up from April 2019 to 2020. So that throws out any short term engagements out the window.
That’s why it’s frustrating.
@D3 I can confirm what D2 is saying. We can deploy as soon as LCA is filed and USCIS received the papers for H1B amendment. no need to wait till H1 amendment is complete. Filed my LCA last week itself and starting a new project from Monday
I am just amazed how some people have the need to call others out. Nothing against EY in general as it’s a good company...
Scroll up and you’ll see that most of the posts were frustration by EY peeps over the EY process. Only one post “wondered” how D vs EY processes were different here. Doesn’t translate well to your “only question we wanted to know...”.
We’re all trying to learn and/or contribute as best as we can EY5
Can someone provide a gist? It has been highly confusing so far
Well looks like H-1Bs are creating a lot of administrative jobs.
@Ey1 the conclusion is you need to submit for an LCA assessment to pretty much do anything outside your home location.
Just leave then
Yeah. This has always been our policy at Deloitte. It takes about 2 weeks for you to get a receipt after which you can deploy to a client location, so it's not all that terrible.
EY5- to answer your only question, Yes D has the same policy. No travel to client loc until LCA is approved and H1B amendment has submitted... even if it’s for 1 day
Can you elaborate more OP?
That sucks... I'm sorry OP :(
@M1 - one way to keep unemployment rate low i guess
Wondering if Deloitte and PwC people are also being subject to such a restrictive internal process? H1B folks at Deloitte and PwC, what's the LCA amendment process for u guys? How long doea the whole process take before u can work at a new location?
EY3 totally agree... it's just a bunch of EY BS. They're making it way tougher than it actually is
EY is very conservative, and extremely risk averse. Hence they tend to take a very safe approach for legal matters. Would be curious to know how other firms law teams are interpreting the new uscis guidelines.
At D, we always had to file for an LCA amendment before traveling to client location. it takes roughly 3 weeks to complete the whole process. Looks like EY is also following the norms now! It might appear bureaucratic. but this process will weed out the body shopping agencies.
M2 - the new policy states you need client SoW and details of the project and your role. Based on new guidelines you cannot apply for an anticipatory LCA ammendment since you do not have the required documents.
