Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

When is it best to leave consulting? Here's how I think about it.
First, are you enjoying it? If so, why leave (it can be a great life long career)?
Second, are you still learning fast? If not, you're missing out.
Last, what skills do most employers value? In my experience, this dictates 2 optimal jumping off points:
(a) 2-3 years in. Consulting "tool kit" is solid
(b) ~1-2 year into Manager. Employers value experience managing people.

This is in the top quartile for a 3.5 year post-MBA exit in tech in the Bay Area. Like the poster above said, try to push for closer to 400 if you can.
That’s slightly higher than what Google pays for L6 strategy exits, but if you get the offer they’ll likely match or get close (if they consider the T2 firm real competition).

Also the base is very high loaded for your offer, Google and many other tech companies will load more in RSU. But base is always better than rsu!
Update: Negotiated to get higher RSU, got additional 100K RSU and bump to 395K first year TC. Thanks all for the advice.
Congrats!
r u not counting ur rsus in tc? cuz the offer seems like it’s better than u say
oh ok makes sense. that sounds kinda light on the rsus relative to the rest of the comp but maybe that’s just how they do it. if ur trying to negotiate this is where i’d focus.
I guess you‘re currently around 300k? So that would give you a good increase. Of course, yearly increases afterwards will be slower, but if you think it‘s a cool role go for it (can always come back).
The Google role might be even more attractive in the long run, so I‘d say try and see.
Negotiation potential probably around 400k. Main lever I guess RSU

270k base is very difficult to beat regardless of the level or position. Congrats! Very curious which T2 tech firm gives so much base at the director level
Very solid. Congrats!
