Hello severance
Happened to me 6 to 7 months ago. In a great job now. It will happen for you too
Chin up! It happens to the best of us, and now you're freed up to chase bigger and better goals. Good luck :)
I’m sure you got severance AND now qualify for unemployment. Yes it’s an ego hit but from a bank account perspective this is the ideal scenario if you were planning on quitting with nothing lined up
Fired is for cause or poor individual performance, you don’t get paid out anything for that. Laid off is for poor department/company performance, they give severance for that. Big difference
I got fired from a job once about 15 years ago. I look at it as one of the best things that happened to me - I hated that job but kept trying to make it work. The change forced me to find something that inspired me, and I never look back. You will be fine!!
ditto. best thing that ever happened to me.
Fresh start. Take your mind off it for now then right back to the hunt
Are you PwC? Join the ex-PwC bowl. https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_tear8
Look at the bright side, you get some severance. Take a few days to just de stress because you will stress, and do something you couldn’t do while employed Happened to me last year and I came out stronger.
PwC?
What group?
Being fired sounds great... especially if you were gonna quit. Much better end of the stixk
My 64 year old dad got word his last day is in two weeks 😭. At least you’re young and recovery will be easier.
That’s true
Sorry to hear that. Did you get “fired” or did you get “laid off”? Asking because I am in the same boat. Hope it’s the latter 😅
Fire is for cause. Lay off means business decision not related to performance or action of the employee
Take some time. Get a perspective and then back on the march. I was let go early in my career in another profession. One of my exec mentor told me that it happens and that you just need to keep moving forward.
You don't want to work at a company that fires/lays off people with no warning on a yearly basis anyway. Hope you get back on your feet very shortly!
😕
What’d you do that got you fired?
P9, OP means one “Partially at Level” across all snapshots. Average is close to “Partially at next level”. I guess it gets inflated a lot. An impact rank 5 person has an average of 3.9, or maybe OP gets unlucky due to group performance.
Relax. This happens to best of resources
Not true SBC1. I’ve seen someone get fired from a company where the culture was a terrible fit for them and go on to be incredibly successful at a competitor with a different culture.
Now is the time to try something new
Severance ?
What vertical and practice OP?
How much a heads up did you get before this happened? Or did you find out by surprise?
Damn, harsh
