Just got offered a contract that’s labeled “part-time,” but the fine print basically expects me to be on call like I’m full-time with nights, weekends, random emergencies. The pay doesn’t reflect that commitment, and I’m worried it’s one of those setups where “flexibility” really means “we own your time without paying for it.” I want the credit and experience, but I also know burnout in this industry is real. Would you roll the dice for the connections?

Contracts are always negotiable. I'd chat with whoever my contact was about the clauses that concerned me and see what they say (basically ask the same question, note the pay disparity and concerns about no work-life balance). It's a violation of labor laws to make someone work off the clock. If they tell you "take it or leave it," then you have a choice to make but I'd ask the questions/bring up the concerns and see what they say. If there's a part that says you've discussed it with an attorney, you could even say "my attorney pointed this out to me and I have questions."

When are Pune offices reopening?

Hi fishes,
Looking for a hr job in mumbai, any leads pls?

I’ve only slept with one person, my wife. I have not openly shared this with anyone because there’s a stigma that I “settled” or I don’t have numbers on the board like a man should. I’m not overly religious, so that was never a driver in the equation. I admit, I do think about the “what if” every once in awhile but I’m honestly getting to the age where I feel I’m beyond my prime anyhow.
