Just got word that I’ll be put on PIP during my performance review early next week. Have another job offer in hand. My question is, does PIP show up in background checks? Don’t want it to affect my new job, so should I consider quitting now before it's “official”? Two things to consider: 1) H1B processing for other job is ongoing (received online approval but waiting for official documents from USCIS) and 2) bonus (which I doubt I would get on a PIP…but happy to hear others’ thoughts). I moved to USA in 2017 on F1 visa. I was not selected for H1-B in the 3 years of my OPT. While my company is transferring me to Canada and can potentially get me back on L1 visa, the shifting situation is stressing me out. The thought of moving to another country in a couple of months is causing a lot of anxiety and tough luck with the lottery is making me feel depressed.

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school.
