Just internally transferred from PCS to FS tax team as a senior. What can I do to catch up all the technical skills and stay on top of everything?

Sure!
PCS was a lot of grunt work. Not that you won't work a lot at FS, it's just a lot more automated and systematic because the clients are so large that they need to have many of their processes repeated. FS does a great job with having realitively similar workpapers.
I'm sure it's just my preference but hopefully that gives you comfort.
Also the PBCs are much cleaner than what I had during my first year in PCS
(ALTHO ITS NOT PERFECT, IT'S pretty good.) LOL.

Do you work on asset management clients now?

Yes, knew how to pick up those K1s and prepare 1065. I’m reading BNA on concepts like carried interest and distribution waterfalls.

Hi all, I’m in need of some career advice. Not sure where to direct my attention. I know that I don’t enjoy consulting, but I’m also fairly confident that I don’t like strategy. The things I enjoyed the most was getting into the customer’s head and figuring out what they value, which I think I’m pretty good at. I also enjoy working with others frequently and finding a solution together, instead of having individual workstreams. I can hold my own in front of a crowd as long as I’m confident in...

Hi Everyone,
I need your views and suggestions. I have two doubts:
1. Is it fair to leave an organisation (big brand) after a year as the environment is real toxic and there’s no career growth as well in terms of good work.
2. If I have to make a switch do I really have to target big brands only or can try for medium and small size companies too.
