Are there any companies out there that don’t need CPA to be manager even if you’re eligible to sit for the exam?

Some firms will allow EA. I know of a SM at a mid size with the EA but no CPA. Big 4 almost certainly will not allow it (unless you’re in advisory).

Can you take a sabbatical and do it? I just did this myself, passed all 4 parts in 4 months studying full time. It’s a big financial burden but if you can swing it it’s the best option IMHO.

That’s awesome

A person I know at EY transferred to Cayman office and became a manager without a cpa. Apparently the rules are different there. The person kept the same NY clients.

like

Yes you can become a manager without a US Cpa in cayman but I'm quite sure that person would've had something equivalent to CPA from another country for the accounting designation. And yes you can work on US clients from cayman by being classified as part of the US onshore team and you can use the same charge code, you just work from the cayman office as an employee of EY cayman

Hi 🐠. I have a sibling that recently emigrated to Toronto and trying to land into healthcare consulting. Her background: MD degree, PhD in public health and currently doing diploma in cybersecurity. All of her degrees are from Asia. She has mostly spent her career as an academic in Asia and has extensive research and publications in public health. Any suggestions on what types of opportunities exist for her in Toronto?

My passion cannot feed my family but I've been burned out so much after years in Tax. 😞
