Why? Titles don’t pay bills.
No. Take the money and be happy. If you think you deserve a promotion, deal with that separately. A bonus is a reward for work done. A promotion is an expectation of future work. Not the same thing b
Agencies prefer bonuses over promotions and raises. Think about the compounding interest on 3%-6% raises over a decade. We’re talking about tens of thousands they’re locked into paying you every year, this way they can just repeat the same amount and it makes most people go away. As far as the promotion thing, this is how they make you look like an ingrate if you ask for more. “We just gave you a bonus? Wasn’t that enough?!!"
But they help you secure a new job with a better salary.
Take the money. Continue working for the title. And if they remain stubborn just apply for the job level you want for your next gig.
Take the title and leave for a place that will pay you what you’re worth.
That logic says a junior right out of college should ask for no pay and be a CD
At least that’s how I got my title
Sounds like you have nothing to lose by asking.
Take the money and run !
They can't and won't take the money back. Ask for both. Express your gratitude about the bonus. Say you need the title too. Not want.
