Just started a new job in recruitment last week! My girlfriend started her new job too a week before me .Really enjoying it so far and looking forward to the journey. Me and my girlfriend are thinking of heading over to the states once we’re about 28-29 (we’re both 24 now). We aren’t going to go over with any assumptions just savings and a working visa and try get jobs in a bar or something and just spend maybe half a year living in the states. Has anyone else done anything similar ?

Are initial law firm consultations usually free? I’m on H1B and wanted to schedule an initial consultation with an immigration lawyer to discuss some GC options (outside of employment based) and was told I’d have to pay $200 for a consultation (45 mins session).

Am I being cheap for not wanting to pay that or are there firms out there that offer free consultations?

Luggage delay claim question

I used Chase explorer to buy tickets for my vacation and luggages were delayed for a month. Per chase term I am entitled $100 a day for 3 days. But the claim agency chase used has been asking for airlines response, which has not came (2month+ now). I am concerned insurance will use this as an excuse to never compensate. Is there a good way to handle this situation?
TIA

What does it mean if there’s a NEP at the firm who’s been there for a long time (20+ years), but never got promoted to EP? Never held leadership roles too. Does it usually mean EPs does not like the NEP enough to get promoted?

The NEP has a book of business, though no idea how much it brings in.
