Switching career fields - Any advice on virtual ‘Brand Strategy’ courses/certificates/tools/websites etc?

I’ve heard of classes by Mark Pollard & Julian Cole or courses via Udemy, Hubspot, Credly - would love to add a noteworthy certificate to my LinkedIn but not 100% necessary. Mostly looking to increase my knowledge in a career field I know nothing about.

Does anyone have experience working for a ALSP? How does compensation work (pay and benefits)? Are you an employee or technically an IC? Do you have billable requirements like at a firm? How do you think it prepared you to potentially move in house? I'm currently at a firm but thinking of taking a position with an ALSP but my goal is to go in house.

l interviewed for Deloitte (India not USI) in January, and accepted an offer letter with DOJ of 25th April, later HR asked me to join on 11th April for which I agreed. Now I haven't received the revised offer letter or any links other than BGV and Pre-Hire form from Deloitte and now the HR is not even picking my calls or responding to emails.

Any advice on what to do?

Do banks offer referral incentives of you refer someone for a mortgage? They do for credit cards, but just curious if you all have seen anything like that with loans?

Looking for tips from seniors. I'm at A1 level at a litigation firm, stepping out of the deer-in-headlights phase. With the Partners assigning work to me in teams of 2-3, there's potential for growth. But with the sheer amount and depth of work on each case it's challenging to take on a more "adult" role. I often find myself in a more assistive role, either by my choice or the Partners'.
How can I accelerate my progress? What are Partners' and Seniors' expectations from year one associates?

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?

I have a new client who, I think, got bad legal advice from someone else she consulted with. From the information I have, there is no way she gets to the numbers I do. I work in a pretty small legal community. How do I address this delicately? My client is hung up on “but that’s not that X said” even though I’ve explained it multiple times and way. Why do partners tell associates to be cost-conscious when billing for certain clients when they can just cut your hours on the back end?

Getting life insurance so they drug tested me. Now they want me to fill out a form that basically asks me to certify if I’ve EVER done any of these drugs. What the? Who hasn’t EVER? What happens if I say never did? Idk my results from the drug test, maybe I smoked a bowl in the last few weeks, can’t say for sure. How does this work?
