Just watched that video of a doctor being cold clocked and forced off a United flight. Never flying with them again.

I think it starts with the gate agents..why the fuck are you boarding a plane that you know is oversold?

like

Read another article that said he was randomly selected when they didn't have any volunteers. But omg there had to be a better way to handle that. Everyone involved in that incident needs to be fired.

like

Insane. Is it true that the reason the flight was overbooked was because they had employees they needed to transfer?

like

Holy shit. But why did he, in particular, have to get off the plane? I hope he sues the crap out of them.

like

Nice, more room for me

They over sold it, needed volunteers, apparently they increased it from 400 to 800$. They claimed that four united crew members 'had to be' on the flight for a flight the next morning. So four ticketed passengers had to get off, supervisor came in with a 'computer' to randomly select seats. Doctor was chosen, he claimed to have important patients the next day, refused to get off. They called security , talked to him three times, third time, forcibly, looked like he hit his head and knocked unconscious. Dragged off.

like

Should've offered more to get off the flight. 1000+ and I would've stepped off in a heartbeat. I bet this costs more than $4000 for them to fix. Being knocked unconscious is kinda huge...

like

I've been on flights where they just keep raising the deplaning compensation until someone presses the call button and they are the winner. Sounds like GA wasn't authorized to go above $800 and then things go out of control. About as bad as a PR nightmare as it gets. Well, could have been a grandma with her husband in a coffin in the hood, but that's about the only way it could have been worse.

like

Was he really a doctor or just claiming to be one to try and stay on the flight?

like

Damn I bet their legal team is cringing. Not a good look.

like

^4k seems quite low haha

Wtf?! Link?

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3297228/doctor-dragged-off-united-airlines-flight-overbooked-video/

They followed procedure up until it got violent, unfortunately http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/united-airlines-mileageplus/1835638-man-pulled-off-overbooked-flight-ua3411-ord-sdf-9-april-2017-a.html#post28153054

P1 was wondering that myself. Could very well be true, but could also just be something he said to try and stay, and didn't think it would blow up like this

Yes 800k is my guess.

What is becoming of our country! I am totally fearful of any encounter with any security agency because I may end up dead.

Just this morning read a news about a family making 11k dollars by giving up 3 seats 3 times back to back on their vacation to florida. With that money i can go to europe ! Delta managed it really well and they were so happy

Stupid Question- We have been thinking for IVF and trying to understand with this process, is there any difference in the health and life of the child as compared to a child born without IVF. I did ask this with our doctor and he said casually its all same. This is not to question any doctor but just to really understand what is going to be different with the kid. This is not very old technology and not much studies as well.

I have been thinking a role in the industrial sector with a longer sales cycle may be a good fit, can travel up to 25%
