Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Part of the job that I didn’t expect is to work in a cross functional team. I was doing both functional and technical work (developer and BA) at the same time. I would want to eventually doing architect strategy more as I grow. The company has provided me a lot of trainings that would help me grow from technical to functional.
I work in Supply Chain Analytics.
I started in the business and functional side doing process improvement. Somewhere down the line I crunched numbers too hard and became the analytics guy.
These days I have three teams working for me, all generally focused on doing analysis, building models, automating reporting processes, creating dashboards, and maintaing Supply Chain best practices.
I make 200k these days in LCOL city in SouthEast
That's awesome
