KPMG law and immigration will usually dissuade any attempts that need extra work from them. They play it safe and will tell you that it will take so long to achieve it that it’s better to stick to your EB2 category. The second lie coming your way is that you cannot come back to EB2 later. I am just disappointed in KPMG law and immigration folks, they just create complications to push their work away.

Best of luck to you OP. I don’t see any way around it.

Not too common, unless you get senior partner supporting you and ready to go to war with Immigration and KPMG Law. The problem is that most partners don't understand very well the implications of green card, and they are being told by KPMG Law that you can continue to work on your current visa as you have unlimited renewals.

It may be a bit tough, but if you can I'd suggest finding someone who has gone through the GC process as they can relate and will fight differently from you. Most partners don't care as long as it doesn't jeopardize your ability to continue working for the Firm.
