Sr Consultant, Human Capital, Federal Industry Alignment, $115K. First year. Will likely get a 3. Was told by a SM that I make as much as most managers and I shouldn't expect a bonus or raise. True?

Hi 🐠! Im current at EY in a consulting group that does not focus on deals, but have completed few due diligence type engagements. We focus mostly on ODD (Operational Due Diligence) for private equity firms. I really want to make it into IB. I have an interview for a Valuation and Opinions Role. Would that help in transitioning in as an IB Analyst? I would have a substantial pay cut (100K to 85K - excluding bonus). My current experience has not been seen as valuable by recruiters.
Whos worked at Cohen and Company Tax in the northeast? I have an offer outstanding. Coming out of BDO Core Tax as an L5 (one step to manager). Pros, cons, dos, don’ts? Accept or no? The salary is competitive.
Background : Tax, A1 just turned A2, at a midwest regional firm, 62. 6k salary Offer : BDO experienced associate, Tax, southeast region 65k +1k sign on bonus I'm trying to counter offer for 67k Reason to switch : Relocation and family. But current firm allow remote permanently. I'm just not sure if I will like permanent remote. So I'm not in a hurry to make a move. Would you take the offer? And why?
Got an offer for 145k with a 10% bonus no 401k though. Currently at 110k with same bonus. Worth the move?
Is end-of-year bonus season a lost cause at this point? (In a firm with no layoffs or pay cuts yet).

Best planning strategies for Non-Qualified Deferred Comp lump sum distributions? Election for lump sum already taken
New AWMA... curious to know what a reasonable salary expectation is and what the growth looks like for an associate within a growing ensemble. For context, background is more analytical, taking CAIA level 2 in a couple weeks, then plan on pursuing CFA.
Avanade signing bonus- offer says sign in bonus will be paid over a period of one year. Is this the norm?

How easy is it to switch projects? A project that would be a better fit wants me to join in February. If I can train a replacement to do my job, I should be able to switch over, right?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Passed the DoorDash onsite for an S&O Manager role! The last round is an interview with a director. Anyone who’s gone through this previously? Anything I should know in terms of what to expect, how to best prepare, etc?
Anyone have experience with a Base + RSU only offer from AWS? The base very small, with a 2 year “cash sign on” that brings TC back up to a reasonable level. But after 2 years, your RSUs are fully vested, and TC = Base + RSUs. No additional detail is provided on the value of the RSUs… except for a “Target Total Comp”. Thoughts on this setup?
AFS folk! What’s your comp look like for those with 3 years of experience? I’m assuming this is a senior analyst/consultant level? For strategy/human capital what should you target for comp 3 years in
Laid off due to COVID from Accenture with generalist analyst experience, want to get back into consulting once the market improves. What certs should I invest my free time into now that are valid with no working experience in them? My work was mostly proj/relationship management, CRM use of Salesforce
Seeking gift guidance for my mom! Her birthday is coming up and I normally get her experiences as gifts so that we can do something together (a show, a game, etc). I live far away now and it won’t be feasible to come home; she’s being pretty covid cautious, so most experiences are off the table. Any suggestions? She is 68, loves taking walks and talking to friends, and never feels like she has enough time in the day (1-2yrs to retirement). All suggestions welcome, wide price range!
Airline offered $1000 this morning to take a later flight. Couldn't take it because a senior manager on my project was sitting next to the gate. 😭
Being the noobie points chaser that I am, I booked flights to LGA (Delta) for a week in NJ instead of EWR (United) without having heard about the nightmare new traffic pattern. Is it really that bad?
Is anyone else in credit card debt?
Thinking about buying a single family home for ~600k in the next year or so OR pushing it out an additional year to get a multi family for ~1m. Thoughts? Current HHI ~175k, $40k student loan debt ($200 monthly) no other debts (credit card/car etc) Project HHI for option two ~210k. Let’s assume I can save 75k for DP for option 1 and 150k for option 2.
Seems like I can get to advanced/final rounds of interviews for these tech companies (manager roles) but keep getting turned down when it comes to offers. Does anyone have any interview tips on how to close?
Woke up at 3am with work anxiety; got out of bed around 5.30 to sketch slides. NEVER happened before in nine years of consulting. MD promotion stress may be what finally does me in 😩
Can anyone give more color on the difference between what the “focus” interview and the “behavioral” interview entails for a consultant . Coming in laterally and recruiter didn’t provide much detail! thanks
