KPMG because who is ZS?
We also drink culture kool aid over here and got bonuses.
ZS because we have a much better culture and pay opportunities. Assuming you’re not in India. During Covid we laid off nobody and in fact hired a ton and paid out two additional bonuses and promoted more people than ever.
Chief
KPMG has Phil Mickelson as CEO, so there's that.
This didn’t age well
Zs because 8-15%
ZS2 inside jokes are inside jokes for a reason 😅
Former KPMG strategy and id say it depends on what you’re after.
KPMG’s strategy group sells to a lot of different verticals whereas ZS is more Life Science focused (unless you’re in Priority Industries which is ZS’s group for everything else).
KPMG does a lot of M&A which is very poor for work life balance.
If you do diligence you won’t travel much at KPMG but otherwise it is 4 day a week travel, whereas ZS travels less from what I understand so depends what you want there.
I don’t think our Boston strategy group was big but could be wrong. NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, SF, and DC I believe are the largest strategy offices.
ZS will pay better over time and has no audit restrictions.
KPMG probably has better name recognition overall, though I think ZS probably has a better brand with b schools and strategy consultants.
What are you trying to get out of consulting?
Did you interview for KPMG HCLS strategy vertical or just KPMG strategy generally
I'm in San Diego now. I don't have to move if I choose ZS. Must move to Boston for KPMG. Have discussed a relocation bonus with KPMG.
I don’t think I can make a blanket statement for that. If you perform low, expect low. Have you also compared the cost of living for these locations? I’d base my decision on that plus where I would prefer to live. KPMG is the bigger brand as well and plenty of internal movement if you end up unhappy where you originally land.
