Landed a good offer from a company but I think I can do better. Asked for a signing bonus but they refused. Got a similar offer from a company I am not as excited about and I am using it as a leverage but still refused. What else I can do?

Thinking about going to my current manager and ask him to match the offer and if so come back with that to the current recruiter.

Any more ideas?

Honestly, if I was the one hiring and you kept coming to me for more money even after I said no the first time.. I would be looking to offer the position to other candidates.

We had an estimator put in her two week notice after she accepted a new job. Our director asked her for two days and came back with a better offer than the new company. She had to tell the new company she wasn’t going to work for them but it showed our company she was serious. If you’re a good employee the ball is in your court. All new hires are looking for much higher compensation so the burden would be on the employer in this job market.

They already said no twice…..What are you thinking you’re going to do here? No means no. If they were willing to budge, they ready would have. To have leverage, you first need to be in a position of strength, and since they already said no TWICE, you have no strength to negotiate anymore. The answer is no. I’m surprised they’re still talking to you. Either take it, or respectfully decline.

And I have seen my colleagues getting annoyed by that. It's like I've become dumb. In my defence, I could say they're giving half assed instructions.

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

I had interviewed externally for a role on par w the internal roles, at a smaller and less established company. They confirmed +20% was in their range

During my interview process I clearly stated my salary expectations of 95k-105k. They came back with an offer at 80k.
