I don't understand why they have to bring back a Wight to convince cersei. Seems like a whole lot of work and what can the Lannister contribute to the war against the undead? Dany could take the iron throne in a day and then focus her attention on the army of the dead.
Still the way to convince her seems contrived. This season is just too rushed in terms of plot with little action.
Agree with the first part OP; not sure why they're trying so hard to convince the Lannisters, would they even be useful?
But I think priorities should be adjusted in part 2, Dany should go fight the army of the dead first, then come south to deal with Cersei.
Convincing Cersei would mean that Dany could focus on defeating the army of the dead first
