Anyone else juggling having kids at home during the winter break and trying to work from home around your SO (who is also working from home). The holidays are always SO hectic at my place and I'm feeling like a failure, my mother was a perfect housewife and I'm far from it lol. Other parents struggling with this?

Give yourself some grace. Your mom was a housewife. You’re not. You are a working parent. Work requires your full attention as do kids - it’s not possible to do both (well) at the same time. It’s so tough juggling parenting with work. I totally feel this, and I’m lucky enough to have a flexible 40ish hour job.

Thank you, it's hard not to compare myself to her even though we've had totally different lives.

Yes, mine are still little and their holiday break from school is long - about three weeks. I always feel like I am failing at everything during these breaks as my time and attention are so divided. I suggested a winter break camp for a week to their dad this year, and he didn’t go for it, so I know it’s going to a rough go. I just hope that work is quiet.

Yep. Kids come home soon and I'm just trying to enjoy the last few days before my WFH peace is absolutely obliterated. We have family flying in to so it'll be nice and full at my house.

I’m struggling at the moment to gauge how much I should be getting paid in my position as i feel I’m heavily underpaid for the work I do, which includes managing digital marketing operations across 12+ countries, manage the studio/creatives plus lead on any campaigns and strategies, etc. I’m also remote UK-based although my company is international. So what do you feel a fair UK wage would be for the role? I love my job/team but the stress isn’t worth it for me atm. Thanks in advance!

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.

My spouse has made it clear to me that they no longer support me working in biglaw and want me to find a job with more reasonable hours. They were supportive early in my career and when we had one child, but our second was born a couple of years ago and all the additional work they put in at home, the lack of family time and lack of couples time is becoming a big strain on our marriage. We are in a high cost of living city so will have to undergo a major lifestyle change if we forego my biglaw..
