Law School should be two years of classes and one year of mandatory therapy. The amount of trauma, anxiety, and pure ego we pack into three years of academic theory is completely unsustainable. We graduate knowing how to analyze a 19th-century property dispute but have zero tools for dealing with a crying client or a 3 AM panic attack. If we spent the third year learning emotional regulation and office management, the lawyer burnout rate would plummet. Why are we still pretending that thinking like a lawyer means feeling like a robot?

I spent a year in tax investigations where I believe I was thriving ( I was going to be an assistant manager in July 2023), I had a lot of assistant manager jobs, I even drafted a Code 9 report to HMRC which my manager said was 80% of an actual report, he then added the 20% and submitted it.
After I realised I couldn't maintain all the unpaid overtime I was working I decided to take a turn and go to compliance, so now I work in CT compliance. I feel very surpressed.

When lateraling to another defense firm, is it necessary to show billable hours at current firm?

Just had a hearing on my motion to compel where OC told the judge we hadn’t conferred before filing the motion. Not only did I attempt to confer on 3 separate dates, I attached the emails and his response that he refused to confer to my motion. Judge didn’t care, as soon as she heard him say we hadn’t conferred she denied the motion. Not asking a question, just needed to vent.

I am traveling out of town for callback interviews. One firm wants me to commit a full day of interviews. Would it be reasonable to ask for a half day so I can fit 2 callbacks in the same day?
