Facebook (Meta) Hey there! I’m interested in applying for the Rotational Product Manager role at Facebook/Meta. I’m currently working as both a Senior CSM and a Product Specialist at a Health-Tech company. Would anyone be willing to offer a referral (I feel weird making this post, but, he we are haha). Happy to chat if needed. Appreciate your help :)

Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

I think about this a lot and have been hoping would someone would ask about it. There’s probably a lot of boring reasons that I’m a creative: It fits my skill set. I’m not smart or tough enough to be a real artist. I’ve gotten accustomed to a certain standard of living. I like working in groups. I like seeing my ideas become real. But as true as all of that is, I think the more interesting question is - what value is there in advertising? How do I take all the blunt, heavy bullshit this job throws at me - the ridiculous hours, the constant pressure, the even-more-constant criticism and creative rejection - and then still get up, come into work and want to to do well at it. I think the value I find in it, that keeps me going, is this: If I can make you laugh, even if it is to sell an iPhone charger, well, I still made you laugh. If I can make you want to call your mom, even if it was to get you to buy a greeting card, well, I still made you want to call your mom. When done right (which, yes, is rare) I can give people a fond memory or a fun way to kill three minutes on twitter. There are more ethical tiger traps in this landscape than one can shake a pointy bamboo stick at, but…I guess the bottom line is I think there’s an intrinsic value to communication, so I like communicating for a living.

Almost all advertising is just noise, and I can help be part of making it a bit less awful.
To give a real answer: because I was always obsessed with ads growing up and I cut my teeth on Facebook in college.
Advertising is one of the last bastions of idea-ocracies where good thinking gives you license to speak truth to power; where a Jr. CW can tell a CEO how to better run their business. And the CEO will actually listen.
