Been working in the same department for 20 years,I don’t like the direction our department is heading,so I applied for a couple of things , similar to the job I do..I have trained people, assisted in creating a group within my department, also learned SQL. I would like to do the same thing but in another industry. Do I have a shot?

A recruiter reached out to schedule an initial call. After I responded, I was ghosted. No real question just seems so strange since they reached out to me.

Looking for advice: been at my new job for about 6 months and absolutely hate it. I’m overworked and underpaid. Have a 3.7 from a top 10 undergrad and a year of experience at T2 (OW, LEK, P-EY etc) but even with referrals I can’t get an interview at BCG. How can I improve my chances?

After a recruiter phone screen and 6 interviews, got rejected at the final round. Can’t help but feel it was a big waste of time, even though I know it’s not. Just sucks to invest that much time in prep, and advancing through three stages just to end up with nothing tangible to show for it right at the finish line.

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

I applied to an experienced consultant position at Bain and just heard back. Yesterday, I received an invite to a HireVue one-way interview to complete. Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. Does IT companies fake job roles like they show development role while attending interview but after joining they give support.Why they don't hire separately for support?Is this because nobody wants to work in support they make job description attractive to make employees join?

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified?
