My company is small (14) but my salary is 25% lower than the lowest margin on AIA salary calculator for my region. What is a fair salary for a small firm in the midwest?

Midwest salaries are notoriously low but 62k for a master's degree, license and 10 years experience is a crime. Even at a small firm anyone with those credentials should be pulling in over $100k in just base, plus performance bonus, benefits. Please look for a different employer and do not settle for a sub 6 figure pay.

Archinect also has a salary poll. I've just switched jobs for the same reason. It's tough to get a decent raise unless you make the jump

What is your billing rate? I know it is supposed to be about 3-4 times the salary, so that might give you a frame of reference.

I believe its $150 an hour but probably more now that they are listing me on RFP'S as a project manager.

For a project architect with your expertise $90,000 is a fair place to start.

Just starting to get into compensation of other areas of the country.

15+ yrs with company
Bachelors, no license or certifications other than Code Enforcement Official.
40+ person company
Only one doing what I do.
Salary: 87k
Yearly Bonus: Roughly 7k-12k

Maybe it's time to move to a big firm. You can easily make 100k with your experience.

AIA compensation salary website is a good place to start. Definitely low balled no matter the region. Check out the website and wish you the best 👍🏽 usually the best way to increase salary is unfortunately relocating jobs or location.

💲For those who DON'T think a six figure salary is possible:

👉Just ask for it. Really, you would be surprised. Might be easier to switch to a new company and ask. I did that 3 years into my career.

And 🛑 wasting your time at a company that under-values you severely. Sometimes switching companies every 2 years or so will allow you to keep raising the bar for yourself.

Considering an offer to go from firm (4 YOE) to become a privacy/product counsel for a tech company (non-faang). One concern for me is the potential of a recession in late 22 into 23 with the fed rate hikes. My fear is if that happens, me being on the chopping block as new in house counsel. If I stayed at the firm, I feel reasonably secure as an associate of not being laid off due to the market. How do in house counsel positions typically fare during lay off cycles? Any experiences to share?

Hi,
My company has been downsizing due to back to back revenue loss caused by the inflation.
Unfortunately, I'm the latest to suffer a job loss due to this.
I'm open to a Scrum Master, Agile Coach or Snr Project Manager roles.
I have PMP, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, Scrum Master & Practitioner certifications.
I've worked in AdTech, Digital Transformation, Consulting & Automotive Tech.
I find out its easier to get an interview if one is referred. Willing to share more info for a refferal.
Thanks

Hi everyone, I’m an architectural designer (from Europe) with 1.5 yrs experience. I’m working for a practice in San Francisco, full-time from the office, getting 25 an hour. I don’t want to be greedy but it’s so expensive out here… Thank you 🌈

Hi Designers,
Been working as an Assistant Technician for 3 years (2 years excluding pandemic) pay is £21k now £22 adjusted for inflation. I will be completing my Part 1 in architecture but also have a degree in Technology, should I find a different company after graduation or take roles offering £30-45k as an Architectural Technologist/Technician.

Curious to know what other avenues people have taken in our industry to make more money. Currently getting OT which is nice since most places don’t offer that benefit but still doesn’t feel like it’s worth the long nights when the paycheck comes in.
