This is so true, we spend too much time at work, so we have to do what we like and take risks as well. If you have a dream, go after it!

Only if what you love lines up with an endeavor that is commercially viable....

I actually think this is terrible advice. It happened to work out for him, of course. But for most people, a lines of work becomes engaging AFTER you invest your time and talents into it. There are plenty of folks who have come to love tax law, pipe-fitting, and other seemingly mundane fields only after they got good at them. I took my boring-sounding job (financial lines insurance) for the paycheck initially, but have come to really appreciate the field, its challenges and the way it provides a meaningful benefit to society.

Doing 2nd of 3 interviews on Tuesday and looking for interview tips. I learned very quickly that I don't understand how the levels and total comp packages work. I'm interviewing for a Business Operations Specialist and when looking at salary ranges they are all over the place. Add in the changes a few months back and I now have NO idea where I should fall.
I have 10 YOE and I am in Seattle..
Anybody have an idea of what level this role may fall into and what sort of BP and TC to consider?

Friends, need some feedback on an idea:

I’m thinking of starting a podcast interviewing leaders at startups about their experience with specific challenges - I know, cliche, get a more original hobby, etc.

Not looking for the narrative arc of How I Built This or Masters of Scale. Instead, looking to uncover specific problems faced by companies that tried something new for the first time. What did they not see coming, how did they adapt and measure, etc.

What are your thoughts on this format?

Any craft beer brewers here?

In the last two year I’ve gotten more and more into alcohol free beer. The selection in my country (Europe) is still small and mainly driven by the big brands (e.g. Heineken). My idea is to start my own small brewery which only produces alcohol free beer as a bit of a pendant to the booming local craft beer industry. Any thoughts on that idea or someone who has experience in the market?
