Looking for advice....I work in a school with very low ESL population and those that are ELL are English speakers. I have had a couple newcomers over the years, but mostly in the lower grades. Just got my first and only 5th grade, non-English speaker. Would love some ideas on how to best server her. I am one teacher and currently only here 4 days a week. I have 35 other students.

Also, is there a group of people in your area who are bilingual in her home language and English? This may help her begin to speak English faster.

Yes, volunteers could help! Peer tutors, students, T.A.s?

Google translate, lots of pictures, and there are extensions on Chrome that will translate too.
