When work from office is going to resume???
My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

Congrats very exciting news! But I’m confused what you are asking for here. Unless you have complications, being pregnant isn’t a disability or chronic illness. Medical exemptions require medical issues. Am I missing something?
9 weeks pregnant- unless you are on bed rest you will likely get denied. You can fly until like 9th month! You can run, bike, do yoga!
Are you looking to get a medical exemption for the entire pregnancy or just for a few more weeks if you’re dealing with nausea/fatigue etc? Or are you high risk? I guess you should ask yourself what it is that is making the commute/going to the office hard on you and having your doctor lead with that as the reason.
i’m sure you can be classified as on bed rest if you have extreme nausea/hypermesis. i used to have to pull over 3-4 times on my commute to throw up during the first trimester and it was dangerous, i would certainly ask your doctor for remote exemption note
Hate to say it but the commute is only going to get harder once the baby arrives - even if you are granted wfh now, they are going to expect you back after mat leave and it sucks once you get used to not having a commute.
Yeah this commute won’t be sustainable w a kid.
None of these answers are correct!! Don't know what state you're in and that certainly could be a factor here, however, you can communicate with your doctor and then to HR about accommodations you may need and are 100% entitled to. Look up federal PWFA and your state's laws as well.
