Conventional wisdom on current firm counter-offering when mentioning you have a few offers? I have an offer at a large firm in Miami. Current large firm has no office there but mentioned they can likely let me be there in a remote basis. BCG and a few other law blog sites have advised against accepting current firm counter-offers, e.g., likely to leave, not loyal, off partner track, etc., but would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I have a CD that gets extremely flustered when you ask them for their opinion on a solution. For example after showing them multiple color pallets and CD not quite liking any of them (real Goldie locks moment) i suggested why not we do (fill in three colors here), the CD freezes up and gets annoyed because they don’t want to say yes or no without seeing it in front of them. What happens if my H1B case is pending and my employment is terminated?

Has anyone went across to the US from Canada on the TN Visa as a Business Analyst? I’m not sure if it can fall under the Management Consultant category.

Does it matter if I don’t meet the specific job requirements when transferring H1B? The job posted requires CPA license but I haven’t got it. The employer is still willing to hire me. I know for PERM process, meeting minimum requirements is important but not sure if H1B have such requirement. What did your transition from AE to editor look like?

5 months ago I joined an advertising post house as a full-time AE. Through the support of a lead editor at the company I found my way into making cuts for the company’s most prestigious client. At this point, I’ve been the sole editor of one global campaign and a co-editor of another, in addition to cutting many social media videos. It’s only 5 months but I can’t help feel that my title doesn’t reflect the work I actually do.

I’m new to freelancing, at a senior level and in NYC. Can anyone give me a range of what day rate would be appropriate to charge? Thank you!!
